EVENT PURPOSE
Proceeds will go toward the purchase of historical markers commemorating sites in the Southernside Community with the first marker recognizing Mattoon Presbyterian Church. Mattoon Presbyterian Church has been a part of our community since 1878 and began at the railroad station on West Washington Street before moving to its current location in the Hampton-Pinckney Neighborhood nine years later. Q. I have no idea what I’m doing?
A. Sit back and relax. Catch up with some of your neighbors. Meet new ones. Here are a few suggestions to help you enjoy the evening:
- Fill up your reusable water bottles.
- Bring a lightweight chair or blanket to sit on.
- Park in the designated parking areas, bike, or walk to the Tune Up.
- No food or beverages will be sold at the event. Picnics are encouraged!
Q. Rules, what rules?
A. You are responsible for your own behavior, safety, and welfare at Porchfest Tune Up. Everyone remains individually responsible to conduct themselves under civil regulations of law and order. However, we have a few rules to help everyone enjoy themselves and maintain a safe environment for all:
- Pack it in, pack it out: please only leave footprints and take only pictures.
- Follow all city ordinances.
- Stay out of the city streets and remain safe, using all sidewalks and crosswalks.
- Remember that the field is private property: be respectful of our host’s property.
Q. Where am I going and when?
A. Centrally located within the historic residential district of downtown Greenville, the field is located just off of Butler Avenue. Stay connected by liking our social media pages: Facebook and Instagram.
Q. How much does it all cost me?
A. For you? $25/ticket until June 5th. $30/ea the week leading up to the event. Please feel free to tip our artist who will make you move your feet and get up off your seat (or grassy spot)!
